Question Keyboard configuration. Missing "afgjl" keys

New Aspire One ZG5. Keyboard selected = English (UK) Default. However if computer turned off for any but the briefest of periods maintains the same settings but letters afgj and l missing in all application. Deselect/ Reselect/ Reboot brings letters back. SCIM Global setup = English UK. IMEngine - no other languages selected. Tried selecting English/ European to no avail. Ideas please.

For English or any European language you don't need SCIM at all. Try deactivate it.
