Read the "Question Guidelines" link in my posting signature as well. You don't tell us what kind of hardware you're using, so we can't really guess. Also, as jsbjsb001 pointed out, kali is **NOT** for new users, nor should it be used as a 'daily' desktop distro. It was NOT designed for that; it was designed for advanced users doing security testing.

Sorry but you haven't even specified the most basic things, like, your hardware brand, make and model, the keyboard brand and model, etc.
I'd suggest "live" booting another distro like Linux Mint or maybe Debian since that is what Kali is based on, and see if that supports your keyboard before continuing.
I hope you understand, as pointed out by other members, that Kali is an advanced distro, for security professionals. This is also why it is very unlikely that you will get any help with Kali here. While many members will gladly assist you with a beginner distro.
My suggestion: Put Kali on hold for now, it WILL only confuse you. Thoroughly learn how to use "Linux" first. After you know Linux inside out(terminal, software, etc),than continue with your Kali pursuit.

Keyboard didnot work in other distro too. But usb keyboard works .
So you're good to go?
You're not the only person with problems on a ps/2 keyboard. However the keyboard might be failing slowly, I've had that happen once, it finally quit working even on Windows.

Again: STOP USING KALI, period. Not sure what else you need to be told, here. It is NOT for new users, and it is NOT designed to be used as a daily use distro, period. It even says this on Kali's own website. Can't make it more clear than that.
And you say that your keyboard didn't work in other distros...such as what? Which versions??? Because I find that very hard to believe. Your hardware is old, and should be VERY well supported by pretty much all the distros. Kali will most certainly NOT support it, ever.

Other distros include Ubuntu ( 14.04.5 and 17.10 versions) , linuxmint-18.3-cinnamon-64bit ,archlinux-2018.03.01-x86_64 .

Describe your keyboards. You say USB keyboard works. What is the other keyboard that doesn't work? Is it wireless, PS/2, din-5, or WHAT? Telling us a keyboard doesn't work, without any qualifying information, and doing it reply after reply, isn't going to get you any help. But I will say, din-5 keyboards frequently don't work on machines made after 1995.
I got p****-off reading this thread, because getting information out of you is like pulling teeth. But then again, many new Linux users would have gotten discouraged at the criticism, and left the forum. But you stuck with it and actually tried. So, I compliment you.
We could simply be silent on the Kali issue and leave you to a life a misery using a boring distro where nothing works the way it normally does in a user distro. But no, we care about new users. If you can learn Linux on Kali, you're a better man than I. If I had to learn on Kali, I'd still be using Windows.

Wow. Ok, buy a new keyboard. Not much else we can tell you. If you've established the mystery PS/2 keyboard you have doesn't work with ANY flavor of Linux that you've tried, then get another one. You say a USB keyboard works...so use THAT keyboard.

Yeah I am using it. I am just curious if there is a way to make it work . Anyway
Thanks for you reply

There might be, but AGAIN:
You don't provide much useful information. Saying "PS/2" keyboard says next to nothing. How about brand/model????
Do you have that port enabled in BIOS?
DO NOT USE KALI....said by myself and others, but you seem to ignore getting that advice
We don't like to have to keep asking over and over for relevant details. We're happy to try to help, but at some point we all get very frustrated when you don't provide details after getting asked repeatedly, and won't even acknowledge getting told things.
