Keep in IP address, hostname, etc in Slax BackTrack2 distro

Hi,

I'm running a Slax distro called BackTrack2 (it comes with many security tools)

I was original on a live CD but I have now installed to HDD - but whenever I make system changes like setting IP address, hostname, etc these failed to get saved and I have re-set them every boot?

Does anyone know the answer to this? Could they setup virtual instance and have a go for me?

This is off the Slax website:
Quote:
Note that that network settings (assigned IP address, etc) won't be saved because they are not kept in any file. If you wish to save network settings then add apropriate commands to /etc/rc.d/rc.local. This file will be saved/restored, and it's executed automatically (so your network settings will be set up).
So I guess it's the same situation when installed on HDD?
