A superficial internet search indicates that this device, or any device based on Realtek's 8812AU chip, is not supported by Linux. A driver exists, but it looks like you would have to compile it.

The device wiki provides a source for the driver software, but no instructions. I did find a few web pages that provide instructions, in particular for Ubuntu. Tails is Debian plus some additional software; perhaps you can also find Debian instructions, but since Ubuntu is based on Debian, Ubuntu instructions should be a good start. Not ideal for a Linux newbie, though. My recommendation: Invest 40 dollars or so and purchase a Linux-compatible WiFi dongle. E.g. https://www.wirelesshack.org/top-lin...-adapters.html (result from another superficial search).
