Just a quick question reguarding installing a hard drive.

Hello guys

I have installed a second drive. I've followed the directions here and everything has worked fine. The question I have is.. the drive I have installed is 80Gig, yet when I right click on the drive folder it says it's only 16Gig. Am I doing something wrong?

Hereis the partition information from fdisk.

Disk /dev/hdb: 80.0 GB, 80054059008 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9732 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hdb1 9732 9732 8032+ 83 Linux

Thanks for the assistance.

One more thing.. I went into mandrake control center and looked at hdb it reads..

Mount Point: /home/nick/hdd2
Device: hdb1
Type: Linux native
Size: 7.8MB (0%)
Formatted
Mounted

When you created the parition only one block was allocated. See the start and end block are the same. I would start over by deleting the existing and creating a new partition. This time make sure the start block is 1.
