Question java for mozilla question.

earlyer i ran into a problem installing java to work with mozilla. I was using the jre-1.3.1_06.i586.rpm, and Mozilla 1.0.1. I installed the rpm correctly, and then linked the java/ns600/*.so lib to the mozilla/plugin dir. after that I would have thought mozilla would have been good to go and java ready, but it ended up not working. Since then i came accross a script that installed it for me and all is fine now, but it is killing me that I was unable to do it my self. If anyone has any idea why this happen please leave a note with any ideas.

-Thanks

I ran into tons of problems getting java to work too.. you could have been trying to link FROM the wrong directory (maybe even wrong plugin) or linking the plugin TO the wrong directory?

If you tried it immediately maybe you forgot to activate java?
(e.g. source /etc/profile.d/java.sh)
