Which shell are you using? If you're using Bash, you can use the shell built-in set to see which environment variables are defined. Bash doesn't appear to use a ROOTPATH variable; see the lists here. Of course, that isn't say you can't set it if it's needed by some applications. What exactly do you need it for?

The root user has a PATH var, the same name as other users but with different content.
It doesn't normally have a var called ROOTPATH.
