Is there a difference on how android and IOS installs apps

In android when installing apps, it uses permissions to access certain information like personal account. location, contacts. etc.

Never owning an iphone, do iphones follow this same approach when installing apps? Thanks

Why ask a question about an iPhone on a linux board? Wouldn't it make more sense to ask your question on a Mac board?
