Question Is it possible to create a VMDK that is a Cloned image of my Mint?

I'm currently venturing a bit in messing around with Cinnamon Desktop Mint, and at work right now we have these Virtual boxes in our workstations that I'm firing up with different installation disks to learn and experience different OS types for VM server work, intently for the future of our jobs later on in the corporate industry environment. I just want to know if it is possible to completely clone my ~<160 GB Hard Drive into some sort of virtual hard drive for Virtual-box to run or not. I'm just trying to test a few things that have been effectively updated through my laptop's mint, that my emulated Mint is unable to update itself with due to a lack of verifiable security certificates that is somewhat withheld either from the Firewall of my work's network, or some sort of odd GPO implemented in the domain or something. I'm currently learning MCSA as we speak about that, so, it can be a variety of things.
