Is it possible that different surfaces of desktop cube has different images? Ubuntu 9, Compiz Fusion...

Do you mean that each virtual desktop to have a different Wallpaper? If that is what you mean I thought I came across something that would let you do that but can't remember.

Try something called Wallpapoz. I heard it is slow though.

different images? are you talking about the cube caps? or the desktop itself? the "images" come from your desktop, so you would have to have a different wallpaper for each desktop. ( I do think there is a compiz plugin for this by the way ) The images on the cube caps can be changed in CCSM
