Ipod Classic 80GB 6TH Generation A1238 Linux


Which version of linux is made for these Ipod's or if there is more then one, which version do you recommend. I want format my Ipod into 3 partitions:
1st is FAT32 20GB for my Ipod stuff.
2nd is 30GB of NTFS for storage stuff.
3rd is for linux and whichever filesystem it installs.

you sure a linux system cab installed to it?

meaning can a linux os be installed to it?
is it possible?
do you know of examples where a linux os was installed to that ipod?

Well not specifically on mine, maybe it could but I could not find it on the internet, but I heard a lot of people putting Ipod Linux onto thier ipods...

nope, there is probably a tutorial on it, i just need to know which version of linux i need, where to get it, and if i dont find a tutorial, maybe a couple pointers

Um, well how much ram does it have or is it just like a usb?
does have windows ce or something on it now?

I dont know how much ram, its an ipod, probably not that much, but apprently its enough for Ipod Linux

try using this tutorial for installing tinycore to usb
filesystem must be ext2 or ext3 with grub OR fat322 using syslinux
