internet

for some reason on mandrake 9.1 i cant connect to the net. it says in the control panel that its connected but i cant surf the net or e-mail. i am using a realtek card. does anyone know how to fix this???

well did you do any type of basic testing ?
such as trying to ping somewheres ...
or checking the output of ifconfig

i have no clue on any of this stuff. i have tried ifconfig but it says it is not a valid bash code
