Question installing Xine player on Fedora 7.......few problems!!!!


Hi,
I have installed the following .tar.gz files for Xine player but I m still not able to have the player running. the files are:
xine-lib 1.1.8
and xine-ui 0.99.5

can u tell me what else is needed to run the player. first of all how do I launch the player.
Plz dont give any YUM commands for I do not have internet access on Linux.
tell , if u can , what more files are needed.

Doesn't simple
xine
command work? Also, .tar.gz are source files. Have you compiled the program (lib package first)?

No
simply "xine" command is not working and I had first installed
xine-lib 1.1.8 .tar .gz file which is for library then the xine-ui 0.99.5 .tar.gz file.
these were the files that were asked to be installed from what i read from the Xine Player website.
Is there sth. else to be done?
