I and other puppy linux experienced users can help. But not enough info yet.
1>puppy linux version and point to download page by inserting a url
2> make and model and specs of your computer. A page with a review of your computer showing the specs , another url pointing to it, would benefit your cause also.
I've used FATDOG64 Linux a like puppy linux distro but it is built to run in 64bit and not 32 bit. If I remember correctly they have their own repos have you tried googling vlc puppy linux to see if you can find it made into that package made to install other apps on its system yet?

I downloaded vlc through package manager
It shows I downloaded vlc but when I click it, it does not load.
I fixed the online video problem by fixing click to play plugin.
Video is working.
I just needed vlc for my CD and DVD.
Just for documenting the feature for other people, there is usually an entry on the equivalent of the start menu that lists commonly used pets though I have not looked with Fatdog64 or other 64bit ones.
