Fedora 15
I enter following command> yum install-gnome-tweak-tool

The result is >cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora. please verify its path and try again.

I dont know how to get to the repo to fix it. In the files i need to remove an s from HTTPSS... We did it in class but i want to learn for myself.

i.e. in all the .repo files in folder /etc/yum.repos.d/ , just replace https with http

you are aware that Fedora 15 is 6 SIX versions out of date
and has been UNSUPPORTED FOR MANY YEARS

there ARE NO repos any longer to install software from
Fedora 15 was "put to rest 6 ft. under" back on "2012-06-26" when it went END OF LIFE

please install the current and SUPPORTED version

Thanks the school supplied this version and our text books are titled the same. i will get an updated version.

if your text book is using 15
drop the class ASAP and get a refund for the credits

15 used gnome2 as the desktop
Fedora 21 is using Gnome3.14

gnome3 is SO!!! different from 2 that NON OF the instructions in that text book will work

also Fedora 15 used the old "systemV" init system


Fedora 21 is using the NEW and VERY!!! DIFFERENT!!! " systemD" deamon system

NONE of the instructions in that textbook( for 15) will work on the services" in 21

there is no "init 3 or init5 any longer



the closest SUPPORTED analog would be CentOS 6.6
that operating system would be VERY close to fedora 15
