Installing flashplayer 9 - Etch/Kde/Iceweasel

First of all; I tried to "Search" this topic but kept
getting error messages telling me I need to use a minimum of
9 words. So I expanded my search question to 10 words, but
still got an error message.

I've been trying to activate/run the adobe flashplayer_9,
and not being successful.

Part of my problem is that installation routines I've come
across:--
http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/f...9/releasenotes
.html
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-399690.html
--don't use language that matches my installation of
Iceweasel 2.0.0.8, and writers seem to assume Iceweasel's
menus and drop-down menus are the same as Firefox. They
aren't Not by a longshot. For experienced linux naviis,
this probably isn't a big deal; there's options in konsole
or shells. But for newbies to *nix, it drives us *nuz

I d/l the file to:
/home/rooster/install_flash_player_9_linux. It holds 3
files:
libflashplayer.so
flashplayer.xpt
flashplayer-installer

When I check my "Add Ons" in Iceweasel [Tools] [Add Ons] =>
"Extensions" it isn't there. I'm also not able to
find/access/run it in my root shell either. I keep getting
"No such file or directory", or
"/home/rooster/install_flash_player_9_linux" *is* a
directory"; --very confusing to a newb.

I assume there's a simple answer to getting the thing to
run; it's just that I've been through so many hoops and gone up so many blind alleys with
this, I've probably lost sight of the basics.

I'd really appreciate some help sorting this out.

Copy the .xpt and .so files to /usr/lib/iceweasel/plugins. Restart iceweasel. Type 'aboutlugins' for the url, and see if flash is there.

Awesome:

/usr/lib/iceweasel/plugin already contains one file:
file:///usr/lib/iceweasel/plugins/libunixprintplugin.so

I'm not sure how to copy the .xpt file. I tried to do in in konqueror,
but got the "permission denied" prohibit.

I'm nervous about messing up in my root directory. Is this the correct
thing to type to copy it?

royrogers:~# cd /usr/lib/iceweasel/plugins
royrogers:/usr/lib/iceweasel/plugins# cp
/home/rooster/install_flash_player_9_linux/install_flash_player_9_linux/
flashplayer.xpt
