Installing CUDA ? Which version to choose for Kali ..

Ive actually got Kali installed, got the basics of pword hashing down. I have my wifi router set to the standard 10 digit ATT code they come with. I generated 10 different files that are about 8 Gigs each covering 1/10th the possibilities.

Using the Air Suite the top speed I have got is 1400 PW/Second

I read CUDA could bare minimum 10X that, so I am trying to install it.

There are PLENTY of guides, that's not the issue. Surprisingly not one of them mention which version of the Nvidia Toolset to download.

https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-downloads

Fedora, OpenSUSE, RHEL, CentOS, SLES, SteamOS, and Ubuntu.

Im pretty sure it's not Ubuntu, SteamOS, or SLES - not sure beyond that.

Ok, stupidly I'm inpatient and went with this guide as it was thinly one that didn't say which OS to select. Of course I'm stuck without a GUI now ...

I guess I'll redo the virtual machine, not a huge deal, and start over. The time rebuilding the machine is the only PITA. Saved files I needed are OK ... Bookmarks not, unfortunately

you use the current version dha

and i take it you do not know that kali is a Debian based system - how much research have you done?????
and as such uses *.deb packages

VM's and cuda might not mix
reread the guides for this unknown VM
and what nvidia 3d card are you simulating or are you passing a second card through
