Installing a Brother MFC 8890DW Printer To My Computer

I am new Linux Mist 15 user. I am very happy with it, but I have only used it for g-mail and internet search. I have no idea on how to download and install any application or how to install my printer, Brother MFC-8890DW. On windows, one just download the driver and one is set to go. What should I do? I downloaded Blackberry Desktop Manager for Linux called LinBerry, but that's as far as I got.

That is a good link to start with. It gives some clues at least.

It also may be that it just works. Have you tried to use it under the Mint settings? What part of it do you need to work, scanner or printer or fax?
