Installation of Slackware 14.2 on VMware player


Hi, I am newbie and is trying to install slackware on VMware player, could you tell me what version of Linux to use since I am not seeing slackware as an option in the drop down menu.

The above is nonsensical. What "drop down menu" ?

You would install Slackware (or any other Linux distro) in a virtual machine, the same way you would install it on a real system.

1) Download the ISO.
2) Load up the ISO in your VM.
3) Install it.

That's it.

Well, there actually is a menu for the type of virtual machine. So, it actually does make sense. Just pick any linux. But make sure the architecture--32-bit or 64-bit--corresponds to the proposed guest os.
