installation of rpm without root rights


Hi,

Is it possible to install RPM's without root privileges ? I need to install flash plug-in for firefox on my fedora core 7 machine.

You need root permissions in order to modify the rpm data base. So installing any rpm requires root permissions.

Moving to Newbie as it's not a security issue.

BTW, you don't "need" root privileges in order to use the Flash plugin. You can install it in the home folder of whatever user you want to have it. If you download the tarball instead of the RPM it should include all the instructions.
