Install package with RPM

Hi there,

I downloaded a rpm package and used the Software Media Manager on KDE to install it. It went well but I'm just wondering where the executable file was put?

It's so f. stupid but I know it's installed on my computer but I can't use it since I don't know where it is...

can anyone help me on that?

Thanks a lot!

"I know it's installed on my computer but I can't use it since I don't know where it is..."

You can query the rpm package to find out where it installed things:
rpm -ql /pathname/packagename.rpm | less

See:
man rpm

less is the opposite of more! really. I'm not trying to be funny here. you can also move foward and backward in viewing listed info as opposed to more.

you can man more & less to see all the options.

If the list is to long to fit on one screen then you pipe the output to less which makes the output readable because you can page up and down with less.
