installing a new kernel is quite easy in debian.
1.cd to the source.
2. make menconfig.
3. make-kpkg which creates a kernel image package (.deb) which
is installable using dpkg -i command.
what I have written is not the exact thing to do but rather Very general
guidelines. For exact commands google for "compiling kernel debian way".
Hope this helps.
