Question I'm trying to install Red Hat from a CD-ROM onto my Dell laptop...

I'm trying to install Red Hat on my Dell Inspiron laptop which is running vista and make it a dual boot system. After I reboot my system with the install disc in my DVD drive, the install screen comes up and it asks what type of media I am trying to install from. Then it asks me what driver I want to install for my cd/dvd drive. Can someone please tell me what I am supposed to do to solve this problem? Is Redhat not recommended for newbies? Thank you!

By redhat what version do you mean ? Redhat Enterprise Linux 5.x ?

I would suggest giving Fedora a try. Fedora is basically the 'home version' of redhat and has much better hardware support than RHEL will.. (I'm taking liberties calling it the 'home version', but I think you might get the idea)

I agree with the previous post. Try Fedora. It's free, detects all your hardware 99.9% of the time and the install is all point and click.
