If you want a report on your progress in yoga, ask your instructor. You might be a little more clear about what you actually want to be notified about. There are numerous options to send notifications at specific times but you are pretty vague about your requirements.
It depends on how far you want to go. I'd like you to look at cron and crontab entries. You could write a program that will pop-up a message at a particular hour/minute. Another option is to look at init rc3.d or systemd. The 3 programs listed have to do with what linux starts during the startup. So cron will start a program at a particular hour/minue, but if the computer is off, it won't do that. Systemd is designed to start and stop programs at certain events, like at startup or shutdown.
Expanding on the suggestion of cron, you can add zenity functionality to a shell script ran by cron and get a gui pop up on your desktop. It's not a hard thing to do. Or just add a calendar reminder on your phone and sync the desktop/laptop/phone.
Yes. Schedule an "event" on your phone or Google calendar or Thunderbird calendar to repeat every 30 days.
I use Google calendar and have TB on Windows and Linux and Calendar on iPhone and iPad...I get reminders on whatever device I'm using at the moment of the reminder. (Actually, I get the reminders on all devices!)
