my experience with ubuntu 9.04 iso (on a cd), unetbootin install a few years ago:
partly through, the installer said that the image was bad. the installer asked if i wanted to finish via a netinstall. after I stubbornly bumbled around trying to keep to the iso, I gave up. the netinstall finished the install. So unetbootin and/or ubuntu installer were flexible.
digression: from a marketing perspective, that name 'linpus' and the linux penguin do not mix well
