I recently upgraded my PPC to Hardy Heron only to find that my scanner no longer work


I run a linoscan 1400 with scsi connection on my mac g4. which worked fine ubuntu 7.04 but now wont work with Hardy Heron. Anybody come across this and got a fix?

Run the package manager, Adept or Synaptic, and see if the scanner driver named Sane is installed. If it is then check the system messages using the dmesg command. You may see information about the Sane driver or the scanner.

Couldnt this also be a kernel problem... well not problem as much as not configured with the scanner hardware option? Just a thought. You might want to check out: http://www.howtoforge.com/kernel_compilation_ubuntu

The following result from command line lsscsi

james@jordan:~$ lsscsi
[0:0:5:0] scanner HDM LS4H1S V1.0 -
james@jordan:~$

but still cant be seen by Xsane
