Question I need to configure Graphics SiS with and Sony tritnitron on Debian


I need to increase the resolution above the 800x600 60Hz
my system is Debian Lenny
I cannot edit the root file that was suggested on a forum
any help appreciated

Was the "root file" called /etc/X11/xorg.conf?
You can edit it by typing
Code:
sudo {your favourite editor} /etc/X11/xorg.conf
in a terminal.
