I have NIS and NFS Server in Linux EL5 and i want to make client as windows..How to m


I have NIS and NFS Server in Linux EL5 and i want to make client as windows..How to make windows as client for Linux server..Can any one explain me more detail..I'm newbie to this plz help me out..

It's not particularly easy since Windows does not support NIS and NFS out of the box AFAIK -- you'll probably need to look into Windoes Services For UNIX (SFU).

Your next best bet is to install Samba and use that for SMB file sharing, which Windows understands.

In fact, you might have to. Going by Microsoft's web site you might have to, since Services for Unix claims to not support Windows Vista. (Feel free to prove me wrong)
