Unhappy I cannot export to mp3.

I use Ubuntu and have a new sony mp3 player. I installed Audacity and Ubuntu restricted extras (for lame)
When I want to export to the mp3 i click 'File' but the Export options are not live.
On pressing Edit and preferences, there is no 'library' option
What can I do? (I am a complete novice and don't understand any technical language.)

Have you tried to do that in Rhythmbox the default Ubuntu music manager? I think that has alot of thing already enabled.

Good luck to you.

try vlc .
open it and from top choose media and then choose convert/save and from there continue what you want.

Audacity requires several dependencies for full functionality. For exporting to *.mp3, it uses LAME (I just looked it up). Do you have LAME installed?

You can read more at the Audacity site: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/A...rojects#export
