i can not enable Desktop effect on Fedora 11

hi i am having trouble enabling Desktop Effects on Fedora 11
does anyone know how i can go about doing so?

I guess in Fedora the option is under System > Preferences > Desktop Effects.
Havent used Fedora for long so that might have changed.

you need to install comps-fusion ( there is a name change -- it was compiz-fusion ) ther is a .8.3 build by one of the fordaforum managers . SEE the how to

i have downloaded the compiz-0.8.3-3.fc11.src.rpm but am having trouble istalling it
any help is appreciated

a "src" rpm it the source code and you need TO BUILD the source code
install

from the HOW TO
you DO THIS TO INSTALL IT ( there is NO src's anywhere in it )

1) install the "compiz-fusion-release-1-6.noarch.rpm"

yum -y install wget
wget http://www.linux-ati-drivers.homecall.co.uk/compiz-fusion-release-1-6.noarch.rpm
rpm -Uvh compiz-fusion-release-1-6.noarch.rpm
rm -f compiz-fusion-release-1-6.noarch.rpm

2 ) erase the preinstalled "compiz and install the new

yum -y erase *compiz*
yum -y --noplugins install compiz-gnome fusion-icon-gtk compiz-bcop ccsm emerald-themes compizconfig-backend-gconf compiz-plugins-unsupported compiz-plugins-extra

3 ) that is it . that is all you need to do .

Fedora 11 already ships with Compiz-Fusion, to activate it go to System at the top bar, Preferences -> Desktop Effects. Press "Enable Desktop Effects" and it should take effect in a couple of seconds. If it does not work, then you are probably missing the corresponding video driver. If it does not work, please tell us what the error message says and what video card you have.
