I'm stumped

My Dell A940 printer will not complete a print job. I keep getting a cartridge stall error. Any suggestions?

You'll have to give more information....
What exactly is a Dell A940? (I assume inkjet, but is it an all-in-one or just an inkjet?)
What drivers/setup are you using it with?
What version of Linux?
Does it work on other systems?

etc.

If you have a running web server and a proper CUPS installation, then open http://localhost:631/ to access the GUI interface for CUPS and try to install/setup your printer properly.
