How to share files/folders between VBox Mint and Vista host?

I'm not an expert and I cannot figure out how to enable the shared folders or Samba. What I need is to have access from the Virtualbox installed Mint to my Vista host folders. Any help would be greatly appreciated:-)

have you added your user to vboxusers group?

short version:

mkdir /home/user/SharedFolder

under VirtualBox settings you set it as the shared folder.
boot the guest-system and create a mount point:

mkdir /media/sharedfolder

Code:

mount -t vboxsf SharedFolder /media/sharedfolder

(both names must differ)
