How to recognize disk's filesystem type?

I am new to this forum and met a puzzle with disk's filesystem. I wanna to know a formatted disk filesystem in Linux, special under RH 9.0. Is there any command in boxes to make it? "fdisk -l" can not help me to know the details of it.

BTW, if I asked a FQA or sth like that, pls points me the related linkage.

TIA,

SSCN

fdisk -l will tell you the partition id type.

df -T will tell you what fs the partition is mounted as.
