How to prevent all windows from collapsing

When I move my cursor to the corner of the screen in SL7, all my open tasks collapse into tiny windows all over the screen until I click on one and make them come back. I hate this and tremble with fear whenever I move my mouse close to the x of a browser window, since I am using 2 monitors.

What is this thing called and how do I turn it off?

It's called "tiling windows" when you touch a "hot corner."

There should be a setting in your desktop environment's settings to turn it on and off.
