How to open multiple files with spliting window in Emacs?


What's the command to open multiple files in Emacs vertically/horizontally splitting window.

There are 2 files in /home/user.Now i want to open both files with emacs splitting window,like emacs ----split-option file1 file2.
How to do this?

Hi,

emacs -nw file2 file2 should open both files in a horizontally split window. I don't know how to do this vertically.

press Ctrl-x-3 {Spliting window vertically}
press Ctrl-x-2 {Spliting window horizontally}
press Ctrl-x-1 {Closing other splits}

press Ctrl-x-o {Moving the cursor from one split to another}

press Ctrl-x-Ctrl-f {Opening a file}
