Should be fine, there a many servers to choose from:

both ftp and http should be fine

Yes!
Possibly, wget, kget, etc (get) should resume from what you have downloaded.

Did you use the "-c" option?

wget -c ftp://ftp.belnet.be/packages/slackware/slackware-13.0-iso/slackware-13.0-install-dvd.iso
edit: I tested the above command, it works.

No I did not use that  Thanks for reminding !
I again canceled the previous command now.
Deleted the previous two incomplete slack ISOs.
Now I issued the command again with the -c option.
and to test it, I did Ctrl-c and then reentered the command,
Now I do not see two slack ISO like the previous ls-l command showed.
I think it means it is continuing from before now !!! |

Many thanks to you and to all other posters of this thread for guiding me till now! 
I don't think it makes any sense now for me to use that pathetic fancy DownThemAll tool again since wget is more powerful than it.

One year ago, I remember my brother downloading an ISO of Suse from some site on a Windows machine. It took 4 days.
On 4th day it showed 99% complete and then suddenly an error occurred saying "Unable to download file x, permission denied" and it was all over.
I am afraid it may happen again,
Any solutions for this kind of problem ? Is this related to the tool we use to download ?

I have heard some people saying such kind of downloads are better through bit-torrents !
No idea what are they and how that is more helpful than wget tool ?
