I have a source files or directories like "yast2-inetd-2.13.2", i want to know how to build that file to a rpm like(yast2-inetd-2.13.2.src.rpm).
Suggest me from scratch how to make a file to rpm
Thank u for the response.
I have written a huge script file, now i want to make that script to a rpm either (.src.rpm or .rpm)package(binary or source), so that i can install it on system.
Thanks & Regards

rpmbuild
checkinstall
those will create rpms, not src.rpm, AFAIK
I think for further help you need to state what sort of rpms you want
and what for.
Distribution: Mandriva mostly, vector 5.1, tried many.Suse gone from HD because bad Novell/Zinblows agreement

Rep:
If it is a bash script you do not need a rpm.
Do you mean the script calls rpms to be installed (the script uses urpmi, rpm, rpmbuild...)
More details are needed. Anywhow I have compiled only once a srce rpm,
so you need help from somebody else
you have to get or write a spec file and then build the rpm, I do not remember the exact flag to build rpms, since I haven't used it in quite a long time. However a google search (or even a forum search) for spec files and build rpm will return quite enough hits to get you going. after that, it's just practice :-)
