There must be a few Redhat/Fedora users out there that know a hardware tool to see the /dev/device entry. Maybe you should google for it. www.google.com/linux .
I had a second look at that mtab file, it seems as if that entry is in the proc directory so it isn't a filesystem entry.
I don't know what else to suggest. Try googling.

Oh well, it looks like nobody's come up with a way around the problem. Thanks to those of you who tried.
