How to install RedHat Linux 8.0 on Dell inspiron 1525 Laptop
I am facing problem when i am trying to install RedHat linux 8.0 on dell inspiron 1525 laptop. Problem is on attempt of installation hard disk not detected by laptop.
It will not install on laptop with sata hard drives. You need something newer. If you are familiar with red hat based distros, you can try something like fedora. If distro is not your constraint and you can try for ubuntu. Trying out a live cd will be a better option. It will give you an idea how good your hardware is supported. RH8 is way tooo old. Throw that in dustbin and get something new.
Linuxen are for the most part free so getting somthing else shouldent be a problem...
you wouldent install windows 95 on a brand new machine would you?
that's what you are attempting to do with RH8.0 and the chances are you wouldent get on with RH8 anyway, its not exactly user freindly.
most recent distros are many times over more freindly for new users
