Just boot up the install disk and install grub to the MBR during install. Then on the second linux distro, install grub to the / partition and chainload it with grub.
When you install the first distribution, the first linux will install GRUB as its boot loader. Upon installing the second linux, Grub will be modified to chain load the second linux also.
You should not have to do anything involving GRUB unless something goes wrong.
