How to get development tools


Installed linux. And now i want to add the development tools, but when i go to add programs it says that the package is not there. How do i get it off the cd? and installed so i can use the dev. tools

What tools are you exactly looking for? Try the control center or something.. add new software from cd's.. or just download what you want from the internet and install.

i need a c compiler to compile sourcecode, and when i go to add programs in the menu it says package not found.
