Hello,

I need to find a file in a folder and then move the file to another folder, how do I write it in Linux?

Thanks

Welcome. Which distro is this for, and which file manager have you tried so far? There are a few different file managers used by the various distros but they are similar enough that you should find them nearly identical. It is a matter of drag and drop.

If this is homework, then you'll have to do the work yourself but it would help to know which distro you are trying this on and which file manager you are using.

There are a LOT of ways to accomplish this in Linux. What are your goals here, and what have you done/tried so far? Read the "Question Guidelines" link in my posting signature; doing a bit of basic research by means of an online search can give you lots of starting points for this.

If you are new, I suggest that you do that one step at a time. Find and then mv.

You might also check man locate.

I prefer it to find for simple searches.
