How to download wallpapers from a website using the terminal?

Hi after long wait and lots of frustrated hours Ubuntu finally works on my laptop. Thanks so much to linux-questions for help with Nvidia and Madwifi , the whole she-bang lol. Now how do i pimp this thing out? I found the website,, and im diggin all the wallpapers but i dont know how to download the wallpapers from the terminal and put them in the background folder. Help is appreciated. Thanks guys...

er...why not use nautilus to copy/paste wallpapers into /usr/share/backgrounds ??

you can use wget to download from terminal too

to use nautilus, as root

sudo nautilus

Why do you want to get the wallpapers with the terminal? Just curious.

I want to become more comfortable with using the terminal and i figured something easy like downloading wallpapers would help. I ended up just saving as and putting the wallpaper in pictures. Only thing is that i don't really know how to change the resolution. But ill figure it out... thanks guys
