How to download and install - for different architecture then running OS?

I have finally managed to implement "bluez" and "libbluetooth-dev" on Ubuntu.

After verifying the install using this CLI:

PHP Code:
jim@jim-desktop:~$ sudo apt-get install bluez libbluetooth-dev
[sudopassword for jim
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information
... Done
bluez is already the newest version
(5.37-0ubuntu5.1).
libbluetooth-dev is already the newest version (5.37-0ubuntu5.1).
0 upgraded0 newly installed0 to remove and 0 not upgraded

my C++ test bluetooth app runs in my current system / local architecture.

I believe the original CLI "sudo apt-get install bluez libbluetooth-dev" retrieved / installed "bluez" and "libbluetooth-dev"
from some default Ubuntu repository and used correct architecture to do so.

Is that correct?

Now I need to repeat same for ARM architecture.

I should be able to use similar CLI syntax and ADD / change (repository ?)for both packages installed directories and specify the architecture.

Is THAT correct?

Or is that even feasible / possible?

If it is possible I would greatly appreciate if somebody advised me on HOW to do that.

I have never done "complex" CLI and do not want to mess things up too much.

Thanks

Addendum

Perhaps I should ssh to the target and do the install there then copy to the host ??

Presuming you're running Ubuntu/Debian?something similar on your arm, I'd try sudo apt-get first, as bluez is more likely to be there.

Then search for a 'sudo apt add-repository <blah>' type of line for the site of the repository you want to add. Alternatively, you can navigate to it and download with dpkg.
