how to create a boot disk


err - i installed redhat linux 7 many times so now that my cds are all scratched im sort of stuck

anyway, thats not my problem
my problem is how can i create a boot disk to boot my already installed linux o.s.
i installed it on a fat partition so i need to use a disk
and i can't boot my linux up

please help

Assuming that you have access to your os, run
mkbootdisk --device /dev/fd0 --verbose <kernel_version>

where <kernel_version> is the suffix you see on the kernel file in /boot.
For example, if your kernel is /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.7-10, use use the 2.7.2-10 string as the <kernel_version> on the command line above.

but the thing is i dont have access to my o.s.
i cant boot it up because i dont have the boot disk

any other advice you may have please tell me

here it is

i use this option with mandrake

it may help u i think

when u r on widnows insert the first cd (bootable)

a welcome screen will show up
u'll find there a button named "Create boot disk"

in the RawWrite window, click on the ".." button on the image file line and choose cdrom.img
then click on Write
