how to connect internet via USB ADLS modem in Ubuntu Desktop 64 liveUSB

I have Alcatel Thomson speedtouch 330 USB model modem.I can run Ubuntu Desktop 64 liveUSB flawlessly but I don't know how to set up my internet connection ?I clicked Network manager and entered my ISP username and password but it didn't work
can somebody help me? thank you

yes I did but it seems the information on the site is not up-to-date..probably the date is about 2004 and I dont know very much about linux

If you're trying to connect to the internet while on a live medium, you may experience some problems. Sometimes you need to install on to HD for the modem to work. Don't know why.
Also, after you plug in your modem you need to wait a couple of minutes. It takes about 2 min on my dual core system after which the usb modem gets recognized.
Lastly are you sure that you are entering in the right dial out number?
