How to change the order of OSs in the grub boot menu?

Hello all -

This is my first posting to LinuxQuestions.org.

I just started at a new company and they have given me a laptop with both Kubuntu and Windows XP on it. When the computer boots Kubuntu is the top (default) choice and if I don't hit the down arrow in time to select Windows XP it boots in Kubuntu.

How can I change it so Windows XP is on top of the grub boot menu and therefore the default choice?

Thanks for your help!

John

Change the order of the entries in the GRUB config file (usually /boot/grub/menu.1st). You can of course just change the default entry by changing the "default x" line in the GRUB config file. The first entry is 0, the second 1 and so on.
