Unhappy How do I disable Ubuntu from scanning sda during bootup

I am using Ubuntu in my external hard drive(sdb) but I want it to stop checking for errors on my internal drive (sda). If it does this, it usually takes 20-25 minutes to boot up. Any solutions to this??
Because I've tried editting /etc/fstab but I do not see the line that shows sda1.

Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

The fstab file relates to the mounting of filesystems, not to the checking of devices on bootup.

If you're not going to be accessing sda at all after you're running Linux, you could disable it in the boot parameters, e.g. (ATA address of device - 2.00):

Code:
libata.force=2.00:disable
To do that you will need to know its ATA address, using something like:

Code:
dmesg | grep ata
