I'm using kdm as my desktop manager. When I looked I found;

micxz@phybernuker:~/scr> cat /etc/kde4/kdm/backgroundrc | grep jpeg
Wallpaper=/usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/themes/SUSE/Background.jpeg

You may be running a different manager? What are you running?

Check what manager is running kdm xdm gdm? try "ps waux | grep dm" then look for config file(s) associated with the desktop manager you are running.

Since my PCLinuxOS has kde desktop, the desktop manager must be kdm, and that gdm is for the gnome desktop. So thanks then, and I will check that folder path for my log in screen image file.

Question

I found some back ground wallpapers in; /usr/share/wallpapers , and the file which calls for the PCLinux starting up image which is in this folder here; /etc/kde/kdm/backgroundrc , but none for the login screen. So when I select my standard user name to log in, it is just mostly a black wallpaper, and I want to change it to that PCLinux blue background. So where do I find that login screen wallpaper, is it under session or ?
