how can i open .chm files


how can i open the .chm files on my linux ?

AFAIK, it takes an app like xchm - never tried it (and there are a couple of other similar apps) but it should do what you want.

Depending on what Distro you use you can open chm files in Konqueror (if you use KDE as your window manager).
Knoppix, RH, Slax all allow me to view without the installation of additional software. For Ubuntu, as the previous poster said, gnochm is an excellent choice.If you are not installing from a network you may or may not have to download additional dependencies.
